Roc Nation is doing publicity not contracts.

From my understanding they have a deal with CAA and are moving into doing the contracts eventually as well, but want experienced agents on board with them while they start up. I think this is a designation without a difference other than it shows that they are seriously getting into the business instead of half-assing it.

Did Scott Boras kick your dog, de-pants you at school, or somehow humiliate you? You carry an absolutely unhealthy infatuation with him. He lost a client, big deal...he's still got dozens, if not hundreds more. We won't be doing a benefit for Scott Boras anytime soon...and I think that Cano may regret going with an agency that covers a broad spectrum of entertainment rather than a specialist.

That may be true if it were some outfit other than CAA.

Remember that A-Rod also dropped Scott Boras before re-signing with the Yanks, and he did fine for himself without Boras. Of course, the Yanks ownership is now far more cautious, so we'll see how this goes.

Nope, Arod dropped Boras in 2010, three full years after the mega contract was signed with the Yanks. Pretty sure that Boras will get paid for years to come.

Right, but before deciding against exercising his opt-out clause, and then extending with the Yankees. None of that is to call into question Boras's skill as an agent, but I do think that the very best players have less need for a great agent than average or marginal players do.

No, Boras was the agent when Arod exercised his opt out clause...it wasn't until 3 years later that Rodriguez dropped Boras...2010. If I understand your statement correctly...

That is correct. My boss was telling me there is a New York Times article where ARod says that Boras really pushed him into opting out and hints at the fact that Boras almost did so without him realizing it. I know ARod has zero credibility, especially around here, so who knows what we should believe. As for the new contract, it was my understanding at the time that while Boras was still his agent ARod went to the Yanks on his own to work out that deal, apparently on the advice of Jay-Z.
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.
