AL Lineup question

AL only 5x5 league (R, SB, AVG, HR, RBI)

Who would you go with for the start of the season...Mitch Moreland or Brett Wallace?? Whomever it is will be replaced by Brett Lawrie when he returns, but who do you think will give the best stats until that time?

Both players seem to have better 1st half splits than 2nd and Wallace, for the brief history, has pretty good April numbers although Moreland's are not bad. This spring, Moreland is hitting very well....just go with the hot hand??

Lawrie is only expected to miss the first few games of the season.

Let's say he misses first three series:
Moreland @Hou 3 (Norris, Harrell, Humber) vs LAA 3 (Vargas, Weaver, Wilson), vs TB 3 (Hellickson, Moore, Cobb)
Wallace vs TEX 3 (Harrison, Darvish, Holland), vs Oak 3 (Strailey, Anderson, Parker), @ Mariners 3 (Iwakuma, Beaven, Maurer)

Assuming that this is weekly line ups, I'd probably start Wallace as he figures to face pitchers who don't strike fear in my heart and Moreland is has a 5 day stretch at the back end of the 10 days where the projected starters are Weaver, Wilson, Hellickson, Moore & Cobb. That's tough for April.

Great point, I hadn't looked at the opposing teams/pitchers yet....obviously, I don't think either can really hurt me with only 12-20 games, but just looking to see who gives me the most during that time.

Vote for Moreland. I think he has a nice year. Surprised he wouldn't be a everyday regular in an AL only league. That's a great fill in guy.
