I stayed out of the fray for the stars, opting to stick to my calculated prices and go for a balanced team. We were probably 40 players in before I purchased my first one.

Quite a few closers were kept which drove up the prices of the rest, hoping to catch some between Benoit and Dotel, I will be targeting the remianing setup men that were not auctioned via free agency. Overall like the depth of my starters and I should be near the top in the categories except saves, hoping to scrap enough for mid-pack.

Catchers also went for high prices which is why Iannetta went for so much. Very happy with my hitting, spent a little too much on Morales but considering the inflation on some other it wasn't bad. Thought I got good buys with Pena, Trumbo, Victorino, and Ramirez. I lost my head on Reimold, but he was a potential big bat that was remaining and I had the money, I wish I would have passed.

Obviously you didn't go in with much value, so you were going to have a tough time. I like Parker and Anibal, and Holland is OK, but that's a lot for Gavin Floyd. You should be fine in W/K but I don't think your ratios are above mid-pack. Offense looks like it will be mid-pack at best too, $17 for Reimold is really a lot as you know. Nothing really stands out, category-wise. Power is probably your best category, AVG probably the worst. I would have tried to get a couple of youngsters since this doesn't look like your year. Maybe trade Dirks and punt AVG, but if you believe in him long-term then maybe you want to hang onto him.

Thanks for this information. Is there any way you can post all the teams in this league to let us know the prices of some of the other players?

Thanks for the thoughts, I actually didn't consider my keeper list to be undervalued, I had profit for all of the players by at least $5 and some much more so that is an interesting spin. Because of that I never thought about rebuilding as these keepers were the result of a rebuild. I do have Myers ($1) and Castellanos ($2) on my farm as well, but given our league rules I won't be activating them. All players can be kept with a $5 raise each year so if I activate either I then have to add $5 to their salary. If I don't activate them, then next year they can be kept for $2 and $1.

yeah, i've noticed he's going a lot higher than I have him pegged at ... just because he has a starting position doesn't mean he'll produce ...
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

I guess I don't see massive profits on guys like Griffin or Dirks. Iwakuma, maybe, if he is really as good as he looked in the rotation last year. And Kipnis should give you a nice $10 profit even if I'm not a believer. Cespedes is the wild card, if he's really a $30 player then you are off to a great start. Still, I would guess a few owners had better lists.

CI Parmelee, Chris 1B MIN 16 that's as shocking to me as Reimold $17. I have an owner in my league that has him for $1 for 2yrs. Guess I should consider him.

As far as your keepers, Kipnis could be a huge value for you if he takes a step forward and Cespedes is a $5+ value, but I don't think the other keepers were much of a value. I think you'll need some help at starting pitching (ratios) and obvioulsy you'll need to luck into some saves like most of us do every year. You have a couple of very good prospects so see how things start out and you've got some chips to trade if you think you can go for it.
