With the need for Interleague play everyday, will teams be playing more interleague games this year, or the same as before?

Good question. I didnt know the answer, so I looked at a couple 2013 schedules (Bal and Was). It looks like each team will play 20 interleague games. So (30*20)/2 = 300 games. IIRC, each AL team played 18 interleague games last year, which would mean 18*14=252 games. So more games this year. Apparently, each team will play all the teams in one division from the other league, plus 4 games against a team from another division. Less 'rivalry' games tho apparently. Bal and Was played 2 3-game series last year, but will play 2 2-game series this year. That's curious because the rivalry games are considered to be the most popular. Why not keep the # of rivalry games the same and reduce the # of games against non-rivals?

Probably because it benefits the teams with weak rivals and disadvantages those with strong rivals, and MLB wants to keep strength of schedule as equal as possible amongst teams in the same division.

I think this also makes DHs less valuable in leagues with weekly transactions, since there will be more weeks where they play only a couple games instead of having whole weeks where they're off and you can replace them confidently.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

I still think the interleague games should be played under visitors rules

This will vary per team. The Nats play interleague games each month. But the O's dont play any IL games in June, July or September and have a stretch in August where they play 11 straight IL games.

if they'd just do away with the DH, we wouldn't have to worry about that distinction. now, where's MJ?!? >.>

Someone said back then, and I agree, that once they started "interleague" play, it became one big league...just an AL and NL division. I still think interleague play sucks stump water.
