  • Dynasty rules suggestions

Brand new dynasty. Looking for rules that 1. need to be established on things that could come up to cause issues, and 2. rules for a new league (year caps, etc.) to make the league more fun.

    Thanks y'all.

Someone can probably help you out with a dynasty constitution.

Will there be salaries? Or is it just keep your best 25 (40?) and then have a draft after that?

How do keepers work? Can you keep a guy forever?

How is position eligibility handled when a guy comes up from the minors?

The main advice I'd have is not specific rules but rather to get a good sense of your leaguemates about how they feel about people dumping and playing for next year. Entirely wild west/do whatever you want OR severely frowned upon OR something in between.

Then, get consensus that we all want to write the rules as best we can to cover this feeling of the league, rather than having leaguewide trade veto voting that will inevitably tick people off.

Finally, write the rules to match the league's overall feeling toward dumping (e.g., $300 in-season salary cap vs. $330 in-season salary cap vs. no in-season salary cap; restriction on trading minor leaguers until after the season vs. no restriction, etc.)

Ban winning and running - the next season's league fee always comes out of winnings for anyone who finishes in the money. Winning and running, even if innocent, can make it challenging to find a replacement owner to take over a dynasty team without prospects.
