  • ALonly trade question.

I have the 3rd overall pick in the reserve draft. One of the Houston prospects will be available at the minimum. I believe that all of the top prospects over Correa, Singleton, and Springer are being kept. I will check that this afternoon.

They are free until activated then are $15 the next year.

I have an at value Konerko $28A. Would you trade him and the #1 pick for a 2b Hosmer but needs to be played out or given a raise. I would raise him to $16.

I am thinking that the Houston guy will be free and provide at least $12 when activated.

I have traded away other picks and will not be picking until the 5th round if that figures into the equation.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

I do not know if the other guy will accept. I am just looking for opinions.

    Thanks.

Quite honestly, I would laugh at that offer. With Konerko at value (maybe), you are offering prospect (who won't contribute much if any this year and then be $15 next year) for Hosmer (a huge bargain at $2, or even at $12 if extended a couple of years).

What Ryno said...also, I'm confused. So are you asking if any of the 3 Houston prospects are worth drafting with the 3rd pick?

I wouldn't do that deal either.

Also, if all the players from last year's draft are available in your reserve draft you might want to look at Byron Buxton. Projects as a Andrew McCutchen type and is higher than Correa on most lists.

Buxton is being kept. I believe all (I may have missed one or two) of the top AL prospects that would rank above Correa are taken and kept.

Actually no. I am saying all of the picks that are better than Houston prospects are being kept. I like two of the three at that spot. In our league prospects hold very large value. It would be better to take a prospect with that pick than an excellent MR. Prospects hold trading value MR's not so much.

              Thank you for your thoughts.

It is a moot point as the owner traded Hosmer today.

Bubba Starling, Miguel Sano and J.P.
Arencibia for Matt Barnes, Martin Perez and Eric
              Hosmer.
