Yes, in the majors in middle relief this year, and I do think he will be in the rotation next year. And he could be a starter this year; injuries do happen. But Joe Kelly likely would be given the first opportunity to start after one injury to a SP.

I wonder if Wacha's brilliant spring has made an impact on this decision and if Wacha is now ahead of Rosenthal for 2014. I'm probably over-thinking this.

You might be. It is just over 7 innings pitched in spring training, after all. But the Cardinals sure do have plenty of young pitching. I wouldn't be surprised if they let free agent to be Adam Wainwright pull a Pujols in the 2013-2014 offseason and sign with someone else for big bucks.

He'd be worth more in a 5x5 and leagues that use k/9 over straight k's. Since he'll only help you in one category I'd toss him.

Depends entirely on your format. 12-team? Dump him. 13/14-team? Keep him. Daily transactions? Keep him. I may keep him at $3 in my 12-team NL with dailies. Those are good ratios and a lot of Ks for $3, if he's subbing in for a starter 5-6 days a week.

12-team yes, but the strikeouts don't matter since it's 4x4. I'm torn. 1 injury and he has a good chance to get back in the rotation. Even if he doesn't start, the way they are likely to use him out of the pen he could still be good a good handful of wins.
