      within the article, it says those are the 75% marks rather than the high water marks. Maybe that's why?

        I always try to look at the actual league, and figure what it will take to finish 3rd in each category. In a 15-team league, you are just about guaranteed to win with those 130 points, and probably with a fourth place finish in each category.

        In Boxscore, for example, here's what finished third in 2012:

        Average - .267
        Home Runs - 222
        Runs - 837
        RBIs - 819
        SBs - 138

        ERA - 3.73
        Ks - 1080
        Saves - 61
        Wins - 83
        Whip - 1.27

          I also generally look through league history to get goals for each category. That said, in Only leagues I think it will be harder to do this as I would expect counting stats and ratios to get worse in the NL and better in the AL. By how much is the question.
