  • Cano offer

12 team AL only 5x5 roto keeper auction w/obp

    My $29 Cano 1yr plus my 1st reserve pick for one of C.Parmelee $1 2yrs, Lackey $2 2yrs, L.Cain $15 2yrs or T.Plouffe $5 2yrs, and M.Sano $5(minors)

See a package worth taking or maybe I need to get 2 out of the 4 players instead of 1? I am re-building.

    Thanks

Are you rebuilding to play next year or in three years? I don't see where you win in this. Cano at $29 is tradeable for more than this. Sano is a nice power prospect but he can't field, strikes out a lot and is probably a few years away. You can't bank on him. None of those other 4 have any base to build from either. Parmelee is interesting but we don't know yet, Lackey is a reclamation project, Cain is a one trick pony and Plouffe is also one trick pony. I would be looking to get some sort of young Major Leaguers for what you have to offer. Don't mess around with Cano, get some stuff for '14. You can get it.

I think you'd have to get Parmelee + Sano at the very least, but I think you're still giving up too much with Cano and a pick. I'd continue shopping him around.

This what else he has worth trying to get for rebuild

S.Perez $9 2yrs (players can be extended at $5 per yr (up to 3 yrs) prior to contract yr)
        B.Anderson $1 2yrs
        C.Davis $9 2yrs
        Olt $5 (minors)
        Cobb $5 2yrs
        G.Holland $1 1yr
        Wilhelmsen $3 2yrs
D.Bundy $15 (minors) only $5 first yr of activation)
        Sergio Santos $11 2yrs (can't be extended)
        Z.Britton $2 1yr
        Arencibia $5 1yr

All 1yr guys would have to be worth adding $5 to have for 2014
*Closers are pretty valuable in our league

I'm definitely taking him in and would try to trade him in the 1st month of the season. Checkout the list of other players he has that I put in another reply.

          Thanks

Is there only one owner who is interested? Like Revo said, shop around. You have time. Anderson and Sano are what I would take here though as well. Though Anderson has a lot of skill but a lot of health risk. This guy's team has not enough imo unless you can also get Salvador Perez on top of ElD's recommendation. In which case that is three solid pieces. Maybe try other owners though.

Bundy is a nice player too but that price tag is high! Good luck dude. Post if you get anymore offers/options.

If you are rebuilding I would not trade your #1 reserve round pick.

I hate the first trade post.

I would do Cano for Sano and Bundy or Bundy and Olt. You mention that Bundy is $5 first year of activation which is nice.

Take him into the season and see what the guys in the running are willing to pay in June. If that owner is your only option right now then I don't think you have to worry much about that trade going away. If you had to trade with that owner I would take Anderson, Sano and Bundy straight up for Cano. If you are rebuilding, the $15 shouldn't hurt you and $5 at activation seems pretty good.

Well, so far not getting too much for Cano and 1st res pick (Olt $2xx and Brentz $5xx), but I am trying to convince an owner with a real good team going in to give me his $5 2014 Machado for Cano straight up. He is seriously considering it and I told him I would do that today so the other owner doesn't snag Cano from me.

I really don't want to take these high priced guys in. I want to get a good cheap keeper or top prospect and then have $ to spend in the draft on some more good trade bait for during the season.

                    I agree with eldiablo.

Robinson Cano will net you far more than just Machado at the trade deadline in your league. I say keep him and go for it this year and if things don't work out, make some moves in June.

I don't blame you for looking to trade Cano as there have been some signs that a decline is possible, but these offers you're getting aren't coming close for my tastes.

Part of my concern is how good will the Yankee offense be this year and how could this effect Cano's numbers? My trading partners are limited. I do like Machado at the price.

Getting close to draft day and still looking to deal Cano

What do you guys think about $5 (2yrs) Plouffe and $5 Sano (minors) for him? I see Plouffe as probably a $10 value at least in AL only 12 team leagues. Plouffe may be the place holder for Sano if Sano can improve his defense at 3rd over the next few years.

I might also be able to get a $6 (2yrs) G.Holland or $3 (2yrs) Wilhemsen for him if I want to take a chance on a closer. I'm building for 2014.

                        Like any of these?

You seem determined to trade Cano away and to settle for less than you should be able to get for him. I don't understand it.

Keep Cano. Absolutely. You're gambling away a sure thing for a couple of players with low probability of ever reaching is value. If you must trade him, wait until the deadline.

Plenty of players on RJ are closer averse. I am not. I believe a cheap closer is one of the cornerstones to winning or at least finishing in the money. I would counter with Olt and Wilhemsen for Cano. If he doesn't bite wait. Whatever you do do not include the #1 pick in any trade. You are rebuilding this pick is not a throw in.
