How do you guys analyze the later SS options. Each of these veteran players has an ADP of 250+. Focus on 2011 contributions as a bench player in a large enough league. We can discuss Manny Machado and Dee Gordon in the other forum.

    Younger players - ADP
    Yunel Escobar - 280
    Jhonny Peralta - 282
    Alcedes Escobar - 287
    Jason Barlett - 325
    Cliff Pennington - 328
    JJ Hardy - 336
    Reid Brignac - 348
    Alexi Casilla - 396
    Everth Cabrera - 398
    Jason Donald - ND

    Over 30 guys include
    Marc Scutaro - 268
    Alex Gonzalez - 269
    Ryan Theriot - 279
    Miguel Tejada - 284

Writing this up, I notice there are two major groups : 265-290 and 325-350. Looking closer, Scuutaro and A Gonzalez are one pick apart, while Theriot, Y Escobar and Peralta are within 4. Since this is a composite of expert drafts, that is interesting.

I'd say, "try and find the guy (as cheaply as possible) who may best be able to get 30 SBs or hit 20 HRs."

So I'd go after Casilla, Brignac, Pennington or Hardy, and perhaps settle for the last of them.

I'd get Pennington for the steals or Hardy or Peralta for the power. But I wouldn't reach for any of them.
