  • Grant Balfour out 4-6 weeks

I saw him at Price's charity dinner just last week and he didn't have any kind of limp. Oh well

well there goes my strategy of tossing my $10 Cook back to get him cheaper ... guess I have to spend the money now ...
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Looks like I wont be keeping Balfour now. If he needed knee surgery, he had all off season to do it. Why the wait til now? Seems like there's something missing here.

Could be something he didn't notice that showed up in the preseason physical.

Seems like he won't be out long enough to decrease his value very much.

But will he get the job back? If Cook pitches well, maybe not. Balfour is 35. Cook (or someone else) is the future. Unless they're intent on spinning Balfour in a trade.

I think you misspelled "Doolittle." (fingers crossed...I love me some Doolittle)

I broke my own rule (never trade for closers before June) and traded for him yesterday in a deal I thought was too good to pass up. Our keeper selections locked last night at midnight. Yay.
