  • I concur with mgwiz22's observation.
I believe it was early on in our league or maybe in Hornsby's old league - We would Reverse the DRAFT ORDER for the reserve rounds.
I believe this is fair and equitable for all league teammates.

It is a big advantage to have an early pick. We have an odd number of reserves and use the same order for choosing reserves. This is unfair to those of us who have a late selection. I believe that a better way to handle this is to reverse the order of choosing the reserves or at the very least have an even number of reserves.
OOoopss!!! My fault. I had forgotten about this. Rd 23 is to start just like Rd 22 so we end rd 27 with the starter of this draft. I will make the change tonight.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

      • I'm cool with either adding another round or reversing the order. No real preference either way.

I found last year's thread and the draft was reversed for the reserve rds. I will keep that the same.

          • Thank you Piney.
I believe I can speak for all of us when I say we really appreciate your time and labor with establishing, coordinating and administrating our league.
It requires great deal of effort to produce a league this size and we are greatful.

Also thank you to Weps, ( Your Draft List by Pos is much appreciated) Eric and others I may have missed.

What really sucks is having to go back into Yahoo and change the draft order for rds 23-27. AAARRRGGHHH!! I could have had the done yesterday.

That makes sense. Thanks for all your work.

                • Definitely the slowest day (by far) we've had in this draft...

                    • Might be time to narrow the pick window to 3 or even 2 hours.

I think 2 hours would be fine. We're still doing well, but we don't want people to lose interest during the reserves.

If you can you search for last years draft and see how long it went. This one has been moving very fast up till recently. It will get done. This usually does go on for 1 month plus.

We do not need to change the time limit. 4 hrs has worked us well in the past.

                          • I think that people are losing interest, and just not bothering to check in or send PM's like they did in the early rounds. But I agree, it'll get done, but the limits need to be policed better by everyone. And next year, I propose adding a rule that says if you time out twice, you're automatically skipped for the rest of the draft. It'll get people to pay more attention, IMO.

As far swapping the draft around, fine by me...there are advantages and disadvantages to every spot in the draft.

                            • I've always felt the guy with the last pick in the first round should get the first pick in the reserves. Reversing the order seems like the right thing to do for the reserve round. I never play with 1 catcher so with the additional catcher spot it always works out that way in my draft league.
