I thought about Mauer bit his lack of power is a big negative for me and while he swipes a few bags its not enough to get excited about. Lotsa depth at C so i will wait.

Power is pretty easy to come by, IMO, but getting someone who can offset those low average, big power guys that might be there later.

Not a big deal, it's not like people don't know who those guys are but it's best not mention anyone til they are drafted. I didn't really want to call you out specifically and felt it was a good time to remind people, especially since we have at least one person new to the mock drafts.

Thanks for the reminder. My experience in leagues is it mostly becomes an issue when you get finished with the draft and approach the reserves. Shouldn't make mention of who's still out there and "this guys back up is still available", things like that can kinda suck when you're thinking of backing up someone on shaky ground.

Need Asdrubral to return to 2011 form or something close to it, but the other MI options were less attractive to me.

I honestly can say, I don't feel good about my team after the first five rounds. That's never a good start. Every player I want seems to go the pick before me. How'd I get stuck by all the good drafters!?

While I'm flattered that I'm drafting next to you and getting some of the praise, this is a hell of a good collection of drafters overall. I think that we're all singing the same tune about getting snaked.

Being in the middle, it's useless to even start making a plan in advance of your pick. Every plan ends up in the crapper.

So it looks like this is more than a killer mock and we play this thing out. Can anyone give me some in-season info? Pickups? In-season eligibility. Any Constitution floating around?

It's on Yahoo and I believe uses the default Yahoo settings as far as pickups and position eligibility goes.

It's always been a daily moves league, standard yahoo rules, IIRC. Pick 'em up on speck if they're in the database, or simply play the WW and see if you're faster on the trigger than someone else. I really can't think of any other variations...

yup that is it. We used to do many mocks here about 8 years ago, but that has since ceased. mock 1 is the last one left. Most mocks we did here that become a league used standard yahoo settings.

But he went later here than in two industry mocks. People are betting on a BA that is much better than average.

and also that the last two years weren't all PED-driven. The NYY/ATL version of Melky is a real downside. I don't think I'll own him this year (along with Jacoby) because their skills say "take them early" but the question marks say "let someone else have them". At least to me anyway. I need to see both of them at least in Spring Training before I budge on my ranking.

I've been using Zola's software and Melky has been the highest ranked player for at least a full round if not two. I happen to think Cabrera's rise had more to do with getting into better shape and getting a better opportunity than he ever really had in New York. As long as he doesn't return to his pudgy and lazy form of a few years back, I feel pretty confident he'll be fine.
