Thinking .285 with 30-plus homers and 20-plus steals and a crapload of runs and rbi in a stacked lineup.
Harper would not have made it past the turn.

That's the choice I would have made also. Despite his girth, Fielder has a better track record of health than Stanton does.

I was hoping Fielder would make it to me at 13. He didn't so I took Stanton. It's obvious we are all on the same page so far.

Hey Knuckleballs. Youre doing great. Welcome to the forum. Youll make a fine addition.

Welcome to the mock as well.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Thanks Hammer, I must say I am loving this site. Everyone has been great and the info is fantastic. Even the music thread gave me an hour of prime entertainment and I only got to about the 10th page. I might have to get an 8 pack of little kings and some Kamakazis and go through the entire thread in my Moms basement. Really took me back.

You should check out the music drafts we've had as well. I'm not sure which ones were done on this site vs. the old one but just search for 'song draft' and you'll see them...Dylan, Bowie, Neil Young, Stones, Soul/R&B. Lots of music junkies hang out here as well.

Bucky's already smashing y'all! He stole Stanton at 13.

While I understand the Bryce Harper love, I think him being the #14 overall player is extremely risky. If he finishes the year with similar stats to last season, I don't think that parks him in the Top 50, let alone top 20. I'm not going to compare him to last year's sophomore mancrushes since neither were as hyped as Harper for as long, but I think Harper needs to greatly improve his stat line to justify being 14th overall.

Thanks Paul. I'll screw it up royally in the subsequent rounds.

Obviously, if I expected the same stat line I wouldn't have taken him. But I wanted a ton of upside and I considered a few guys that produce but that also tend to have injury issues. So I went with Harper who I hope will really step up this season. He showed that he could make adjustments last season. The tools are there.

I wanted two 30-HR hitters, which is why I chose Beltre over some other infielders and Heyward over some other outfielders. It may have a few picks early for J-Hey, but he was going in round 2, and when you're at the ends, you gotta take who you want sometimes even if it's a little early.

Harper is all upside. I cant imagine someone actually might think the teenage prodigy, the greatest hyped prospect maybe ever, with his 80 power tool and ego size of a mountain has peaked, or that his 2013 line should look anything like his 2012 line.

                          JMO of course.

                            I like both those picks.

Of course, but in a real money league, you also don't want to lose because your first round pick didn't meet huge expectations. And his stat line from last year is actually already pretty good, so building on it could be a huge proposition, even for this hitting prodigy.

Can't believe Josh Hamilton was this close to making it back to me in the 2nd. Still, happy to get two stud MI's to begin the draft.
