The Japan Series (Japan's version of the World Series) was won today by the Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars, upsetting the heavily favored Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in 6 games, 4-2. They won the final game 11-2, w former MLBer Yoshi Tsutsugo having a big day, going 2-5 w a HR and 4 RBI. Former American HSer, Carter Stewart Jr., had a bad day, giving up 5 ER in just 0.3 IP. It was the Bay Stars' first title since 1998 and the 3rd in franchise history.
The Korean Baseball Organization championship was won on Oct. 28 by the Kia Tigers beating the Samsung Lions in 5 games, 4-1. It was the Tigers' 1st title since 2017 and 12th in franchise history, which is the most of any franchise. The Tigers were led all year by 20 y/o sensation, Do-Yeong Kim, who had one of the greatest seasons in KBO history, w 38 HR, 40 SB, a .347/.420/.647 slash line and 143 runs, which set the KBO record for most runs scored in a season. He is the youngest KBO player to have a 30-30 season.
