  • Best fantasy draft picks of 2023?

Who was the gem that's powered your run for the title?

I'll start: Lane Thomas had an ADP of 306 in NFBC main events. That dude has been absolute nails for me.

I dont know about title run for me this year, but I got TJ Friedl in the 18th round and he's returned more like 3rd round value. Also, I got Will Smith (the pitcher) in the reserve rounds of my auction, and not the early rounds either. He's given me the equivalent of about $23 of value and appears to remain the primary closer even after the acquisition of Aroldis.

I've got Lane Thomas, Soler and Stott on multiple teams, for a total of $14 and $8, and they are the main things holding my teams together.

Leody (although he's trailed off significantly in the 2nd half), Zeke Duran (also trailing off).
I lucked into Yandy (I vastly overpaid in a draft because he was the last CI on the board and thought I wasted $.... nope)
I have Spencer Steer cheap in a lot of leagues.
Stott is an easy one, outperforming his contract for everyone I'd guess.
Nolan Jones has been great for a late reserve pick in several leagues.
Aaron Civale when healthy has exceeded expectations and draft slot.
Bailey Ober was cheap everywhere because of the preseason demotion and has pitched great.
Carlos Estevez was great until recently and he was free in a lot of auctions because he looked so bad in ST (thanks Pauly)

            A couple more:
            - Chas McCormick - He's been my 2nd most valuable player in the league I have him in. Paid $8 for him and he's returning about $24 in value. I dont know how much playing time he'll get next year but sure is performing this year.
            - Jason Foley - I never heard of him before this year. He was a FAAB pickup. He's been very good all year as a setup man and now it appears he's the closer. His keeper price is $10 so I'll have a decision to make next spring.

Acuna with the 2nd overall pick. I know, I know, second overall but he's vastly outperformed the consensus top 5 going in to the season.

Yeah really. I can't believe he's batting .327. If you took a chance on him, it paid off in spades.

In my shallow money league McLain, Chas, Estevez, Eflin, Wells, Wacha, Eovaldi were all claimed as undrafted FA. I'm currently in 4th but 1-4 is pretty tight with 2 weeks until playoffs.

How shallow and how many teams? Some of those guys are surprising.

Really small! I'm sure you've tried before but expanding both the active and bench spots would make that league much more fun. When leagues get shallow it turns into just flip a coin for who will stay healthy.
