Smyly finished w a line of 7.7 IP, 10 K, 1 H, 0 BB and an easy win against a very good club. He was one of the few players a drafted that I had second thoughts about but he's been excellent so far. 2 W, 23 K and 23 IP and a 3.13 ERA.

Staying healthy has always been Smyly's problem. Every year he seems to have a run of 4 or 5 good starts and then he goes on the IL and then he struggles when he comes back. And once again I couldn't resist picking him up from the free agent list.

Smyly is lucky he didn't get injured when Gomes "tackled" him on the play that ended the perfect game.
