Lars Nootbar or M.J. Melendez?

I have Lars Nootbaar for $! in my 5x5 mixed one-catcger league, two years left on his contract. I have been offered M.J. Melendez in trade at $5, also two years left on his contract.

I already have Alejandro Kirk as my catcher, so Melendez would replace Nootbaar in the outfield if I made the deal.

Would you accept this offer? I'm leaning "no" since I'm expecting a pretty good year out of Nootbaar.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

They are very close. If they both were the same price at $5 I would still lean a little to Nootbar. If it was a two catcher league I would lean the other way.

It is not a two catcher league and saving the $4 bucks makes it an easier choice for me.

I like Nootbaar a bit better. The only consideration is does Melendez have less risk if he starts the year poorly ? If Nootbaar is crappy in April is he still getting full time AB?. As a Redbirds Fan you probably have a better idea than i do.

If you arent starting melendez at catcher it makes zero sense.

Here's to hoping you dont keep 2 catchers, both for you, and for me. I'd prefer my $1 catcher to be the 15th best instead of the 16th!
