2k23: Joey Meneses

Joey Meneses appears to have a spot as a 1B/DH on a Washington team largely devoid of talent, but this is a 31-yr old guy who played 10 years in the minors. Most projectors are giving him 500+ ABs with 22-25 HRs, but I'm getting a Frank Schwindel-type vibe. He seems to be a player who could hit those projections or be in the minors by mid-season.

Came here to make the same Schwindel reference. That said, someone has to get the volume there. Unreal that the current highest ADP in February DC leagues for this club is Keibert Ruiz just inside 190.

Meneses underlying numbers were impressive (78.9% contact rate, 45% hard hit rate), but yeah…it’s a gamble that any of it is repeatable. The Nats seems very supportive of maximizing his PT across several positions so it looks like he will have every opportunity to be successful. At $6 in my NL-only, he’s a fairly low risk keeper for me, so I’m definitely rooting for him.
