2012 stats: 503 PA, 240/286/372, 12 HR, 54 RBI, 52 R, 6 SB. 5.2% walk rate, 20.7% K rate. .284 BABIP, 49.7% GB rate, 16% LD rate, 34.2% FB rate.

Hit .230/.292/.333 vs. lefties and .244/.284/.387 vs. righties, so he's not a total tragedy in terms of platoon splits.

3-year decline in walk rate, worst K rate of his career.

Had a 134 OPS+ in July (4 HR, 17 RBI, .295 AVG) and was below 85 every other month.

Andy Dirks hit .322/.370/.487 in 344 PA, and the Tigers signed Torii Hunter. Ruh-roh, Brennan.

Dirks had a 140 WRC+ against righties and a 109 wRC+ against lefties, so he might platoon. But Boesch is also a lefty, so that doesn't help.

V-Mart is back at DH, though he'll surely need some days off.

Does anyone feel comfortable putting Boesch down for more than 300 ABs? Or $5 in an AL Only?

Not at this point. But he can come alive as we've seen before.

Not that great in the field either, 300 AB's might be pushing it. Wouldn't be surprised if he is not on the team by mid year.
