This continues to amaze me. Anyone come across any medical explanation for how it is possible for Dickey to pitch at a high level without a UCL in his pitching elbow? It does not seem possible, and everything I read on it, just says, that it isn't possible. But it has to be possible, and there has to be an explanation.

2 more years at $25 mil. $30 mil for 2013-2015.

I'd gather he's asking about the players involved. It's still not known who the "non elite" prospects are.

I read $25, not $26 million, on ESPN and FOX.

He also throws a fastball 85 mph, which not any of us can do.

Ah, but back when he had a UCL (I assume he had one then), he could throw much harder. And does he really throw 85? I thought he usually topped out at about 80.

His fastball is 84-85 now. Was 86 mph back in 2008. And he was at 89 back in 2003-4. I'm not sure why his speed dropped off to 86 in 2005. He had a long series of injuries 2004-6, so maybe that had something to do with it.

But he was born without the UCL.
