Hard to say if Crawford will be ready by opening day, but here's what it'll probably look like when everyone's healthy:

      1. Crawford - LF
      2. M. Ellis - 2B
      3. Kemp - CF
      4. Gonzalez - 1B
      5. Ramirez - SS
      6. Ethier - RF
      7. Uribe/FA signing - 3B
      8. A. Ellis - C

      SP - Kershaw
      SP - Greinke
      SP - Beckett
      SP - Capuano
      SP - Harang/Billingsley/Lilly/Ryu?

That rotation is going to be reeeeally crowded if they sign Ryu or Anibal.

So you'd rather have the Dodgers just pocket all of that money that they'll be making in the next couple of decades? Is that really a better option? Making the owners richer and richer?

Personally, I like the fact that they're plowing the cash back into the team and the organization...not to mention, it gives the fans around baseball a legitimate Goliath to root against.

Of course not, but the economic disparity among baseball teams is ridiculous so I'm not going to give the Dodgers a pass simply because they're not the Yankees or Red Sox. I don't blame the Dodgers, nor did I blame the Yankees...they're simply playing by the rules and maximizing their chance of success. I blame the system that allows that disparity to exist. And the fans of these economic behemoths are the icing on the cake. Just wait, the Dodgers will likely win at least one WS quite possibly more, then we'll see how quickly their fans start expecting it every year.

After a decade of having an owner use the team as his personal piggy bank, it's nice for a change to see owners want to put a winning team on the field, even if this has been a bit overboard.

I understand why Dodgers fans are thrilled with the new ownership but that doesn't make it good for baseball.

2nd base - batting second seems pretty weak - and Uribe isnt the answer at third

I would think that Ellis bats 6 somehow

Do they have a real 2b/3b prospect coming up?

I would expect Gordon at short or 2d and possibly Hanley at 3rd.

The Dodgers have spent a ton of money and look like a great team but I still don't get the idea that they will have a dominating team. My prediction is that team will fail to live up to expectations.

It would be smarter to put Ethier in the 2 spot but Mattingly seems to like Ellis in the 2 slot. It would make sense for them to find an upgrade at SS/3B (wherever they don't put Hanley) but I don't think there's much out there. If Gordon starts off hot in AAA they might give him another shot, but with his defensive troubles I don't think they're too keen on giving him a starting role. Cruz and Uribe are the candidates at 3B right now but I'm sure they'll at least bring in a couple guys to vie for the job in ST.

Alex Castellanos has spent some time at 2B but I'm not sure they trust his defense there. Otherwise the cupboard's pretty bare for infield prospects.

The Braves' horrible TV contract (long-term, signed right before the explosion in TV money) is going to cripple them in a few years.

                        Looks like they got Ryu.
The Dodgers have signed Korean left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu for $36MM over six years, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (Twitter links). The deal …

LOL...I want to believe that is just a good joke, but I actually believe that is likely to be true. There are a few pretty small countries.

Are they going to try to trade any of their excess starters?
