And yet for some reason, this doesn't annoy me...yet.

El D was right...richest pitcher contract in history. The Dodgers are the new Yankees.

But here's the thing, even as a Dodger fan -- while it's nice to have Cy Young quality arms, Dodger Stadium creates solid pitchers. Maybe not nearly on a Kershaw/Greinke level, but were Capuano & Harang really that bad?? Was Blanton?

I'd rather the Dodgers have spent the dough on a stud bat, but it's not like I'm upset here.

Dodgers may just be getting started. Their new TV deal alone will pay them $240-$280 mil per yr. I wouldnt be surprised if their payroll goes over $300 mil. The money that flows in MLB over the next few years could be unbelievable.

Its funny, I got up this morning saying to myself, I bet greinke signs today.

Reasonable contract given other recent signings ... and yes, the tv money is just starting to change the landscape. Things will look very different in a few years.

Imagine what a Felix would go for.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

You'll need them next October against Reyes-Cabrera-Bautista.

even after signing greinke, there's a rumor that they're also after Anibal Sanchez too.

I've been a Grienke fan since his debut and really pulled for him to overcome his mental issues a few years ago, so as a fan on the player, I really hope that trying to live up to this contract in the #2 media market doesn't wreck him. As a padre fan and dodger despiser, however...

You mean now that you can outspend the rest of the teams by a sickening margin it's fun rather than cringe-worthy, because your team is not the Yankees? I will be rooting just as hard for the new 1% as the old 1%.
