He was additionally attractive over a guy like Bourne in that he wasn't offered a qualifying contract and a team wouldn't have had to give up a draft pick if they signed him. Not sure if that effects resigning with your own team, but made him slightly more attractive to a team like the Phils.I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert...
