I'm currently in third and was offered this trade. 10 team (12 next year), mixed, keeper. I was offered: A. Beltre(12/2), Y Molina(3/3), J Upton(46/3), L Lynn(5/3) and W Chen(3/3) for Encarnacion(1/3), Weiters(8/3), D. Murphy(3/3),Latos(18/3), Aceves(14/3). It's not a bad offer, but I'm afraid it wont be enough to help me where if I keep these guys at least I will still have a solid keeper in Encarnacion. My current 3B is Headly (A-Rod hurt) who is hot and comparable to Beltre. I do need offensive help. What do you think?

Was just proposed something along these lines..I would get Hamilton(21/1), Rollins(10/2), Tex(29/3) for Encarnacion(1/3), A Gonzalez(26/1), Miley(5/3)...Me also mentioned I throw in Utley(6/3) and he would throw in either C. Lee, R. weeks, or infante. Should I take this or hold on to what I got?Comment

break it down a little bit
Encarnacion(1/3), A Gonzalez(26/1) - EE is a keeper at that price are better than Hamilton(21/1), Tex(29/3)
Miley(5/3) - a keeper and a valuable pitcher - right? for Rollins(10/2) - rollins is respectable but on his last legs - who does he play instead of?
Utley for a thrown in - looks about even - maybe infante gets you a a better BA
when you give up a very low powerful hitting keeper you get two good players back
Offer up EE for Tex and Hamilton - if he is rebuilding he would need to consider itComment

Problem is, our league has crazy rules regarding trading to prevent dump trades, etc. If a player in his final year of contract is being traded, the player returned must be in last year of contract too. That's why Gonzalez was thrown in to balance Hamilton (last years of contract). Also, my current SS is Hardy, so Rollins seemed a better upgrade.Originally posted by swampdragon View PostComment
