    I have a piece going up at Rotowire on it today as I dig into his issues with less differential on his FB & CH plus sequencing & selection issues in later innings, but Ken's piece is exactly what myself & others that cover the team have been discussing for weeks now.

      great article. been waiting for something like this to pop up (given the TB tilt to this site!). shields' season has been a bit bewildering.

      i have him at a great price ($5) coming off of his '10 season, but he's killing my rotation this year and has rendered himself almost untradeable. that article is just the kind of link that could be sent along with a trade offer....

        I'm in the same boat, but have him at another year for $5. Hopefully he'll pull a Saberhagen and be awesome again next year.

          Shields hasn't been helped by the replacement level defense on the infield with Longoria out (Elliot Johnson SUCKS at shortstop) but he also hasn't helped his cause falling in love with his cutter again. I had a story on this last week at BP and one today at Rotowire (sorry guys, have to pay my bills) but he's easily the most frustrating pitcher for me to watch these days.

            Even given the big swing in park factors, seeing him pitch with the Rangers' defense behind him would be pretty awesome.
