According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Orioles have officially acquired Jim Thome from the Phillies, details will be announced upon completion of their respective games.
The Orioles are in need of a powerful left-handed bat in the middle of their lineup, and Thome provides exactly that. He'll likely serve as the O's primary designated hitter against right-handed pitching, and could be a very valuable source of power in deeper fantasy leagues.
