Rules and stuff
The farm draft will officially start on Monday, June 25th at 9am. We can pick off the clock before then, and I would encourage you to do so.
As of now, the official number of picks is set. If you trade a pick you must get one back. You are still welcome to trade picks but please follow this rule so nobody ends up with >7 players... but of course, if you trade one of your current farm players for a pick then you don't need a pick back.
For round 1, we will use a 6-hour timeout rule... but it won't go into effect until we're on the clock. (So if Conn picks right now then Wayne still has until 3pm on Monday.) For rounds 2-6, we'll use a 4-hour timeout. The clock will run from 9am-9pm EST.
I will set a deadline of July 6th for the draft to be completed. Any picks not made by then are forfeit.
To be eligible for the farm draft, a player must be:
-ROY eligible (ignoring service time, so <130 AB or <50 IP)
-Property of a major league team (2010 draftees count, but if they don't sign by the deadline of July 15, then you lose them)
-Not already owned by a PONY team (duh)
-Not in the major leagues*
*As of June 21st, 2011 at noon EST all eligible players are frozen. If they're in the minors as of now, they're eligible. If they're in the majors, they're not. If they are down now, and they're called up tomorrow, they're still eligible. If they are up now and sent down tomorrow, they are still not eligible.
This also means that no roster shenanigans are allowed. Anyone on a PONY roster as of June 22nd at noon is not eligible. I can't cut Manny Banuelos right before my 6th round pick and then pick him in the draft.
