I was a pretty good hitter until kids learned to throw a curve. I bailed out on strikes all the time. My "career" in baseball lasted until I was 14 or 15.

The end of my baseball career came at the hands of the dreaded curve ball. I remember it vividly.

Eighth-grade...I'm at the plate and have two strikes on me. The catcher call time out and walks out to the mound. I'm not understanding why he did. He comes back crouches behind the plate, pitcher winds up and the ball is coming straight for my head. I crumble like a house of cards making sure I don't get plunked. All I hear is, "Strike Three!"...followed by laughter from the pitcher and catcher. Signed my retirement papers at the end of that season.

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

Not sure if there's video, but Kershaw buckled Freddy Galvis even worse than this last night. Worst part was Galvis was batting righty.
