  • Encarcerate Jair Jurrjens!!

    What is wrong with him?

Great last year. Worse than bad this year.

I am glad he was sent down to work things out.

    He was just killing me.

I think he's always been one of those pitchers whose end results have never been fully supported by his underlying stats.

His K% has been trending downward since his rookie year; his GB/FB ratio has also been trending the wrong way. Last year, despite his 2.96 ERA, he had a puny 5.3 K/9. This blowup is surprising, but his coming back to earth isn't.

Even if he never pitches in the bigs again he was still worth 20x more than Renteria.

      Signed,

That trade was an obvious steal when it was made. I have no idea what the Tigers were thinking.

Gregg, I understand that JJ's been bad, but how do you "encarcerate" somebody?

With all of the Free this player threads it was my failed attempt at humor. I was trying to think of something opposite of free and this is the best I could come up with.

                  Wouldn't Jail Jair Jurrgens work?

                  (going for alliteration)

Yes, much better actually. Plus it looks like you spelled it right, but what do I know?

Actually he didn't. It's Jurrjens, not Jurrgens. That said, it was very funny thread title, Gregg!

                        D'oh!!

I have no idea why I spelled it that way. And then I missed it 3 times!

                          Thank you.

I got the tough spelling of the name correct, but I used and E instead I for Incarcerate.

I thought he had stolen defunct Microsoft encyclopedia software.
