  • AL: Worth a FAAB?

I'm going to use this as a running thread this season. Others are welcome to post their candidates.

    Quintero
    Hannahan
    Godfrey

My offense is anemic so far and I have Abreu, Endy and Gentry in my lineup. Hannahan would replace one of them.
I have Pena who is the personal catcher for 2 Royals starters, so he will get 2-4 starts/week.
Godfrey and Blackburn are the only starters left on the WW.

Roster in sig. Are any of these worth dropping players for?

I'd probably go with dumping Endy for him (Reimold is doing well so he wont play much) and keep Abreu and also Gentry for his possible steals.

Too bad about Revere going down.

Ack! I hadn't heard. That makes my decision easier. I do like having both sides of the Gentry/Borbon split and expect Borbon to be up soon with Gentry doing nothing.

Borbon is doing nothing in AAA (.219avg .290obp 1sb), so Gentry is ok. Gentry is doing what Texas needs right now. He's a solid defensive replacement and pinch runner. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Now if Hamilton or Murphy were to get injured, you might see L.Martin. He is doing well in AAA

Updated: Borbon was 4-5 tonight. Martin hit his 2nd homerun and is batting over .360

Martin is on another roster. I expect Borbon to be up at some point so I want to hold him. I picked up Hannahan and have been happy with the RBIs he's chipped in. The rest of my bats have come alive and I'm climbing in the standings.

          This weekend I'm considering:

          Maier (better than Punto?)

Strop (to handcuff Johnson, but also because he has great ratios)
Feldman (starts this week against the Yankees (Nova)

Are they better than Furbush / Cobb / Slowey / Hernandez? Which of these should I be holding onto?

I landed ErChavez and Strop last week. This week I'm considering Frieri, Axelrod and Rhymes.

I need a starter so Axelrod really interests me.
I have Johnson/Capps as closers so picking up another candidate interests me. May also give me trade bait.
I have Endy in for Chavez and am leaning away from Rhymes as he is not an upgrade for me once Chavez comes back. Rhymes IS going to have a job for 6 weeks though.

            Thoughts welcome.
