  • Help with my reserve draft this Saturday

AL only 12 team 5x5 roto keeper $260

I have pick's 1,2&5 in the first round. These players cost $15, but only $5 the first yr if activated.

I know that I'll have to see how my auction draft goes to finalize my needs, but I'm considering taking 2 starters that will impact right away. Please rank these guys or at least list the top 10 in order by how much impact you think they will make early on and help the most

This is what will be available for sure

Smyly SP Det (got the 5th spot in Det)
Richards SP LAA (next in line for 5th spot if Williams fails)
Pettitte (May possible, but before Pineda?)
    Guyer TB
    Slowey Minn
    Ruffin Sea (future closer?)
Dozier Minn (just missed the cut, mgmt likes this guy)
Damon (signed by AL team by May?)
Manny (Sometime in May, still worth it?)
L.Martin Tex (I'm liking this guy with one of my 3 picks)
    Borbon Tex (SB's)
Parker Oak (could be 5th starter soon?)
Peacock Oak (could be 5th starter soon)
Cobb TB (next in line if injury? did great last year)
    Cust NYY
Giavotella KC (a little surprised he didn't start)
    D.Robinson KC (Sb's)
    T. Robinson SEA (Sb's and pop)
    Peguero SEA (masher)
    Oswalt FA
Chisenhall CLE (if hits, he'll be up quick)
Snider Tor (next in line if Thames falters)
    Bundy Balt (too far away?)
    Lavarnaway Bos
Tillman Balt (turning into possible end game reliever?)
    Matsui (retire?)
    Vlad (retire?)

    Parker
    Richards
    Guyer
    Smyly
    Manny
    Chisenhall
    Borbon

I don't think Leonys will be up any time soon. I do like him long term.

I may take Smyly because I know he's already got a spot in the rotation and then grap Richards. I was debating taking Pettitte with the 2nd pick. I'll take one of those hitters with my #5 pick.

      anyone else

      Thanks

I would draft based on whatever stats I need to fill the most. I have found I am always lacking in steals and like to look for players with getting me 15 or more if possible. If you are going to need pitching, why are you thinking of rookies. Most of them are up and down to the minors within 4 to 6 weeks. I would say you best options are Damon, Manny Ramirez, or Pettitt. Who knows for sure with Damon, but Ramirez can lock you in with 20 Home Runs or more. That is a nice player to get in the reserve rounds. Let us know how you do.

I think of that group, Pettitte will provide the most help this year.

Yeh, I think Pettitte might be ready before Pineda and I'm pretty sure when he says he's ready, Nova or Garcia will be replaced.

I should probably take the best hitter available and that would probably be Manny or Damon with my second pick, but we know Manny is going to play. With the 5th pick I'll grab Borbon for steals if he's there.
