  • Vladdy Damon and Matsui?

    Are these guys really done?
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Vlady and Matsui can't play the field anymore, and there just aren't much in the way of available DH slots. Damon isn't perceived to have much defensive value and overpriced himself.

Well, Vladdy apparently was working out for the Indians, but recently they were trying to trade for Abreu. Abreu is not good fielder, so I guess the Indians didn't like what they saw from Vlad or they could have just signed him. I don't know if the guys have priced themselves too high or not, but I think Damon will not just play with any team. I think Damon may have the best chance to play this year and with the Indians not interested Vlad, he and Matsui may be done. Haven't heard anything on interest on Matsui

It'll be interesting to see what the Indians do once the inevitable Hafner injury happens.

Matsui signed to a minor league deal by the Rays. He was on my radar but I decided to wait until this actually happened. I picked up Er.Chavez instead. Is 0.250 and 15 HR Godzilla's ceiling?

I don't want to jinx him, but Hafner's situation (I think) has been continued problems with the same shoulder injury. He seems to finally be fairly healthy.
