  • Best host for an auction league with keepers?

So, the Fantasy Baseball League of Ireland moves this season from a redraft league to an auction with keepers.

We currently use ESPN but they only provide for an online auction not an offline one. Interested to know if anyone uses a host who can handle an in-season salary cap?

I know OnRoto just created there own auction platform this year. I have not used it, but it may be worthwhile to check out.

They charge around $100 per league.

If you email them maybe they can provide you some details.

Anyone who brings in a new client for cbs receives $150. I'll give you $100 and keep $50 if you want to join...

EDIT: because I live in ontario, I am not eligible. Perhaps one of our americano junkies can hook you up.

Agreed. It is pretty damn cool. There are only a few bugs with backtracking and lag occasionally, but they usually work themselves out. I'd like to use it during a live draft with everyone on a laptop. I think that would keep the auction at a good pace, reduce paperwork and confusion, and allow more time for revelry.

Thanks for the offers guys. I asked some of the guys in the league and they're more comfortable sticking with ESPN for this season.

I'll make a PDF of the auction values and send it out to them afterwards. After that, they're on their own

Looking forward to Sunday I must say. Auction spreadsheet is done and tested. Upstairs bar in my local has been reserved. Sweet as a nut.

Have had a query as to whether we should just all bring laptops and do a live online draft? First instinct was to say "BUT I MADE THIS AMAZING SPREADSHEET" but upon reflection the man might have a point (less work inputting rosters for me for a start!). However, is it worth going to the trouble of getting everyone there in person just to do the draft on the laptops?

Well I see you took the visionary step of answering a question before I'd asked it

Yes, definitely do the auction online if you can...much much faster. CBS' draft room interface leaves a lot to be desired but it's still pretty good. For example, you can't change the countdown timer right in the draft room, and our entire draft room shut down for 5 minutes or so in the middle of the auction. But it's still way better than manually inputting each team.
