  • How does your league handle free agency?

BC (sorry Revo!!) revived a cbs thread from last year which contains the usual 'why does cbs not offer a better free agent system?' cries.

Upon a search, I was surprised to not find a poll on the methods of free agency used by the rotojunkie community.

    Well, here is the poll...
    27
We do not use free agency.
    0%
    0
    First come, first serve.
    0%
    4
    Based on standings.
    0%
    3
    FAAB Bidding.
    0%
    18
We would use bidding but our service does not offer this feature.

Revo, you make an interesting point.

And true, I was thinking of the stats you posted, my bad.

Not sure why you set up two polls, did I miss a subtle difference? I see the 5th option on this one and went with it, we do use a FAAB bidding process, but we don't process it at our CBS site, I do it all by hand and then enter it manually at CBS.

ETA: I see your explanation in the OP in the other thread.
Some people say winning isn't everything. I say those people never won anything.

Quitters never win, winners never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you...but it's still on the list.

Some people are like Slinkies, they are not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

we FAAB "restricted free agents", ie, any player that was not available to be purchased at our auction, unrestricted free agents are daily grabs based on previous days standings.

Ive always wanted to get into an FAAB league but up until this point everything I've played in (seasonally) has been by rankings.

            - owned farmhands who are recalled go to their own team

            - regular unowned players are first-come, first-serve

            - players arriving from AL are FAAB

            - a player whose expected recalled is announced, is not someone's farmhand or in from the AL, and is sought-after my more than one team goes to the lowest-ranked team
