  • KC Closer

I have Soria at $24 and the plan is to have him as one of my keepers for the draft. What does anyone feel the chance is that Soria gets traded by KC this year? Who would take over that spot is Soria is traded? I would like to get that guy on my team as well to protect me if a deal was done.

    Holland. Get him. He's good.

Dont know if Soria will get traded or not, but there must be someone who is a better keep option than a $24 closer, no? That seems like above market value.

depends on the league format/setup, totally. in my AL only 4x4, that'd be a bargain.
One league, 28 years, 9 championships. AL 4X4

        Current Lineup:

        Ohoppe 2 Rutschman 22 JRamirez 40 Dezenzo 5 Lewis 6 Semien 26 Torres 20 Hamilton 10 Tucker 42 Cowser 1 Meadows 5 Holliday 17 Andujar 10 Robert 28 P Lopez 8 G Rodriguez 5 Ragans 5 Holmes 10 JDuran 10 McArthur 1 Miller 6 Crochet 10 Crawford 1

Look at what Holland did last year compared to Broxton who is coming off major issues (16% K rate, 15% BB rate). Skills wise, Holland should get first crack at it.

Yeah, I realize all that, but managers always seem to love that "experience" when it comes to closers.

Maybe they'll call Milwaukee and ask about K-Rod?

Ouch. We had our auction last night and he went for 19. I'm not a fan of doing it this early. We had guys on 3 continents participating so we went with the only time that worked in March. I like doing the draft a week into the season because all the position battles have been decided.

What about Aaron Crow? It looks like he's going to be out of the rotation, and he was pretty darn tough last year.

I hate drafts after the season starts. Part of the fun of the draft is deciding who will be the starters and how much to pay.

                            Since Broxton had that infamous 48 pitch outing vs NYY in 2010: 41.1 IP, 49 H, 29 ER, 6 HR, 30 BB, 34 K's, 6.31 ERA, 1.91 WHIP

Broxton's no Greg Maddux, who would have thrown 48 pitches in 5 innings !
