    1B Hosmer
    2B Weeks
    SS Y.Escobar
    3B Moustakas
    MI Kipnis
    Of Carp
    Of Zobrist
    Of Reimold

potential trade bait if they make their teams and start, Thames, E.Chavez, Seager, B.Allen, Torrealba

    SP Santana
    SP Holland
    RP Benoit

potential trade bait or keeper depending if they make team and start, Turner, Ross, Oliver, J.Gomez

I still may do a trade for Shields costing me Moustakas and Turner. No SP in draft.

I think you need to decide if you're going to make a run at it this year or not. This team is built to win in 2014 or 2015, but not now. Way too young across the board.

That's kind of the way most teams look in our league. The high priced guys are going back in. Experienced position keepers of value are Bautista $7 (1yr), Cano $24 (1yr), Longoria $20 (1yr) and that's about it. Granderson at $30 and Pedroia at $31, A.Jones $23 are others that might be taken in. There will be a lot of bats in the draft. I figure I can get at least 2-3 of them and still have a lot of high potential guys that may or may not hit expectations this year. I traded for 2 of the better keepers in Wieters and Zobrist at their prices.

I agree with Porcello that your offense is built for the future, not this year. I am not crazy about Carp and Reimold to go with the rest. If you could package them for an upgrade I would do that.

I do like your pitching for this year.

How much better would this look?

          C Wieters $7
          1B Hosmer $10
          2B Weeks $10
          SS Y.Escobar $11
          3B J.Bautista $7
          MI Cano $24
          Of Zobrist $6

          SP Holland $11
          SP CJ $12
          SP Santana $18
          RP Benoit $3
          CL Bailey $11

that would leave me $130 to spend on 11 players in the draft

Not sure I would keep Benoit, unless you are sure that Valverde will crash. I would make the deal for Shields as fast as humanly possible. Your pitching would be very salty then.

Who do you have to kill to get Bautista and Cano?

Wow...that looks a lot better for this year. As Lucky noted, I'd dump Benoit in either scenario. In your first listing, I also agree that I'd get Shields for Moose and Turner in a minute.
I'm just here for the baseball.

You got Bautista and Cano for Moose, Kipnis, Reimold, and Carp?

                  W.O.W.

Yes, that team can compete. I was going to suggest moving Hosmer because short term I think he is very over rated, but you may not need to now. I'd still explore options though, maybe you could even package him to get one of the big 3 1B's?

I agree with the others re Benoit, send him packing and pocket the extra cash for auction day. With the offense fixed I would budget for another closer, another arm close to CJ's caliber, and one closer to Holland. The rest is all offense.

I haven't pulled off any deal just yet. I've had talks with the Bautista, Cano and Shields owners.

Shields would cost Moose or Kipnis and Turner

Cano may cost Kipnis and Profar

Bautista I'm not sure about. It may take Hosmer, Moose, Machado and Holland. Something like that, but I probably wouldn't be able to make all 3 trades.

I would hate to trade Hosmer because it' a keeper league, but with Fielder, Pujols, Tex, AGone and Konerko available in the draft, there are quite a few 1st basemen.

I like the Shields deal (Turner and Moose) and the Cano deal (Kipnis and Profar). Usually you have to wait until dump time to make those sort of deals. I think Cano is at least as valuable as Bautista, so he would be my prime target.

After Shields and Cano, getting Bautista would be the final piece.

I'm gonna give it a shot to put my self in position this year. I would put Hosmer in a deal for Bautista. All of the guys I'd be picking up are just good for this year, but I'm getting them at a great value. Bautista is a +$30, Cano + $12 and Shields +$6-9 in our league.

At least Cano and Shields added would put me in better shape. Bautista would be icing on the cake.

                          I'll let you guys know

So currently I have these 2 offers on the table

Kipnis $10 and Turner $5 for Shields $21 in last year
                            and
                            Moustakas $10, L.Martin $8, Carp $5 and Profar (xx$5) for Cano $24 last year

If I did these 2, there is probably no way I get Bautista $7 unless I put Hosmer in a deal for him

If I do the 2 on the table, does it really put in a much better position going into the draft?

i think you could consider cutting santana, provided you do the shields trade. shields/CJ/holland is a formidable core to a rotation. the added $18 offers quite a bit of flexibility toward another big arm/stick, as needed, in the draft. as it is, i dont think santana provides great value at $18.
