  • Ryan Madson signs with the Reds per Boras, err, Heyman

    Terms not disclosed

There goes Sean Marshall as a sleeper closer

And there goes Chapman as a super sleeper closer. The Reds have more pitching than they know what to do with. I guess that is a good problem to have, though.

Sweet, I have Madson for cheap in both my leagues!
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

          Reportedly 1 year for $8.5M.

Probably could have gotten more by accepting arbitration from the Phillies.

I am happy. I much prefer Madson to a declining Cordero.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Not really. He made $4.5M last year, arbitration would not have doubled his pay as a reliever.

Votto is under contract for two more years. Meanwhile...
                - Pujols is out of the division, and Dave Duncan could be gone as well.
                - Fielder might be out of the division, and Braun could face a significant suspension.
                - Houston, Pittsburgh and the Cubs have a lot to prove.

Looks like the Reds want to make most of their opportunity.
