  • Which group would you prefer in a 5X5 15 man league?

Every season you keep 5 Major Leaguers, one player who has just lost his rookie eligibility in the previous season and 5 minor league players.

I'm leaning in a specific direction, but I keep getting conflicting opinions from people I ask. What says the Pen?

    Team 1
    MLB (Any 5):
McCann, Gordon, Beltre, Ichiro, Sabathia, Shields, Bumgarner
    Rookie (Pick 1):
    Espinosa, Reddick, or Minor
    Minors (All 5):
    Parker, Mitchell, Vizcaino, Colon, Blackmon

    Team 2:
    MLB:
    Hamilton, Pence, Victorino, Wainwright, Cahill
    Rookie:
    Kimbrel
    Minors:
    JMontero, Montgomery, Taylor, CKelly, TSanchez

    Team 3:
    MLB (Any 5):
    C. Santana, Pedroia, As. Cabrera, M. Young, A. McCutchen, J. Johnson, Z. Greinke, J. Zimmermann
    Rookies (Pick 1):
    DGordon, Kipnis
    Minors:
    MMoore, Odorizzi, BHamilton, NRamirez, GBrown

Team 3 by a comfortable margin for me
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Agree with MJ across the board, but I'd probably keep Dee over Kipnis if they both have starting jobs. Sure, Gordon could hit .260 but he could also steal 50 bases.

Tough call there due to their positions, but I'd lean Gordon as well.

And I'd be torn b/w Young over Zimmermann as well. 3B is weak and he's still a hitting machine.

I pretty strongly favor hitting over SPs in a 15-team league. I could see possibly keeping Greinke over M.Young if you're not a believer in Michael Young's year.

                  I'm more a believer of Young's year than I am Cabrera's I think.

I hear you, but Asdrubal came into the league with a rep of having power and speed, and at age 26 finally showed it. I like most that he's a MI, turning age 27, and is with a team that appears to be making positive progress.

Personally, I'd keep all five hitters, as I'd be very confident about putting together a decent pitching staff from SPs available in a 15-teamer.
