  • Idaho pig farmer wins NFBC - 2nd time in 3 years

Lindy Hinkelman has won two of the last three titles in a lucrative fantasy baseball contest, giving him earnings of more than $300,000.

The National Fantasy Baseball Championship, a contest paying a top prize of $100,000, draws an elite collection of contestants: computer geniuses, deep-pocketed stockbrokers and money managers, maybe a young man or woman looking to be the next Billy Beane or Theo Epstein.

But the contest over the years has produced only one two-time champion, Lindy Hinkelman, a 59-year-old pig farmer from Greencreek, Idaho.....

“Raising pigs and this baseball thing really go together,” he said.

There's no way a dude with more than one wife would find time for fantasy baseball.

Yeah, but he paid 8k in entry fees in 2011, so he probably had a few teams going. Still pretty damn good though.

He won both the in-person and online challenge leagues the last year Fanball won. We gave him a gigantic fat check. That's him in the Washington St jacket in the front row

I got on my toes for the pick to be the tallest guy and thus upstage Sporer who has me by an inch.

Other than you and Paul, could you identify these other thugs for us. Several of them look frighteningly familiar.

Yes -- there have been issues with a few high stakes events but the integrity of the NFBC and NFFC is beyond reproach.

I think he was asking Jason about the Fanball check since they've gone belly up.

He didn't want to hog the lead all year long?
