I think what they're saying with that is that AL SS is really weak, which it probably is; note that Jeter earns $24 in mixed, while Hanley Ramirez earns $34 in NL-only (almost the same as Jeter) and $37 mixed.

In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Worst-hitting NL regulars, non-catcher (by OPS):

      Brett Wallace: .222/.263/.325, 360 AB, 5 HR
      Danny Espinosa: .214/.277/.348, 515 AB, 13 HR
Scott Cousins (who? FLA OF): .252/.306/.328, 448 AB, 3 HR
      Carlos Gomez: .246/.287/.352, 517 AB, 7 HR, 28 SB
      Freddie Freeman: .240/.274/.367, 480 AB, 13 HR

      a) who the hell is Scott Cousins?
      b) does anyone else think Freeman can't do better than a .274 OBP?

Or that Espinosa will get 500 AB with an OBA of .277?

Cousins has a chance to win the CF job for the Marlins. Management hasn't brought in much to compete with Coughlan who has never played the position.
