last minute question -- have about an hour to decide

    last minute question -- have about an hour to decide

    our league allows us to activate up to three guys for the last couple weeks (basically adding more util slots) for $12.50 each. Third place is worth $360, fourth is $240. I'm in fourth with 84.5 points, third has 87.

    I can add any of Loney, Furcal, or Mark Ellis.

    Relevant standings in each offensive category follow. I can't do anything interesting in pitching. My team is in bold.

    HR: 154, 153, 146, 146, 131
    RBI: 677, 670, 658, 630, 621
    R: 748, 741, 716
    SB: 127 (the guy in third, who has Weeks and Rollins maybe coming back), 125, 124, 119
    OBP: .3333, .3324, .3312, .3308, .3293

    The guy in third is in first in all of the offensive cats except SB.

    Should I activate anyone?
    In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

    I'd take Loney, at least. Plays every day, good for AVG and R.

    I'd add a speed guy for sure, even if it had to be as lame as Darren Ford, who offers nothing else.

    Bogusevic, Campana,, Constanza, etc. - lots of midseason NL OF callups. Any left?

      Easy now, JJ. Some of us are relying on Darren Ford.

      Definitely consider a speed guy (Gwynn Jr would be solid if available, esp. with Ethier on the shelf for the year; Campana might be second choice). Ford has wheels too.
