  • Halladay/Hosmer for Kershaw/Crawford

10 team keeper league... I can keep Halladay or Kershaw for one more year so I'm considering that a wash (?). I can keep Crawford for 2 more years but Hosmer for 5... With Crawford's year in Boston and the fact I can get Hosmer for 3 additional years, my first thought was the Halladay/Hosmer side.

Does anyone have an opposing view?

Crawford is in such an awful funk right now but I'd have to assume he'd come out of it. So I think you need to evaluate this trade as if Crawford is going to be the Crawford from Tampa. However, Hosmer for 5 years vs Crawford at 2 kind of balances things out, I think. You also have to assume that Hosmer will improve so that's nice. Plus I believe Halladay to be slightly better than Kershaw. It may sound like I'm arguing for both sides, cause I am.
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.

      Gun to your head...?

I go with Halladay/Hosmer. 3 extra years of Hosmer is lots of time for him to outvalue CC.

Yeah I guess the 3 extra years tilt the deal in that direction.

Is this a 10-team mixed league? I love Hosmer as much as the next guy (honestly, probably more) but where does he rank among all 1Bs going forward? He's not passing Miggy, Pujols, Votto, or AGonz, probably not passing Prince and I'm not sure about Teix and Howard.

If Crawford is anything like himself and you think Kershaw is a top-10 pitcher, then I'd rather have that side.
