  • Rangers Annihilate the Twins

    20 runs, 27 hits

20 hits by the 4th inning!!!

Third team in MLB history to score at least 3 runs in each of the first five innings. The other two were in 1990 and 1900!

Best pitcher the Twinkies had all night was Michael Cuddyer!!

Chris Davis decided not to partake in the beatdown, going 0-for-6, the only starting batter without a hit.

yeah, I'm glad I didn't have Davis ... seeing 20 runs & then looking at the boxscore to see that 0-fer would have been tough.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Obviously, the Twins plan was to tire out the Rangers and win out.

          Chris Davis was 2-4 tonight.

          Also, this is courtesy mlbtraderumors.com:

The Red Sox and Rangers rank first and second in the majors, respectively, in runs scored. Yet one night after Michael Cuddyer prevented the Rangers from scoring, another position player, Mitch Maier, shut down the Red Sox.
          It's a funny game.

Even Davis scored. Reached on a FC.

If you are playing a position player and he throws an IP, do you get credit?

I doubt it. Kindof like if you own a pitcher and he hits a homerun, you don't get credit for that. He wouldn't have even been eligible for a pitching spot on a roster, so it's not like you could've even slotted him in anyway.

In my main league, no. Many moons ago, there was a glitch in the ESPN software that counted it.

hmm...our rules allow a pitcher to go into our UT spot.

I assume it's for his pitching stats. We used to allow that but when TQ Stats fell apart and we had to switch the site couldn't accommodate the rule so we ditched it.
