  • Grady Sizemore to the DL (7/18)

at least they had the courtesy to place him on the DL before lineups need to be submitted....

Indians placed OF Grady Sizemore on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee contusion.
Sizemore left Sunday's game in the first inning with the injury. He missed a little more than two weeks in May with the same ailment. Sizemore traveled back to Cleveland after Sunday's game to undergo additional testing on his right knee. Results of that exam haven't yet been released.

I just cant believe this news...
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Why do people still have this guy on their fantasy teams? He doesn't steal bases anymore and he hits for a low average. I'm guily of this as well and thinking seriously about dropping him in my dynasty league (keep all, no salaries).

It all comes down to risk reward. He went for $22 in our 12 team AL Only Keeper 4x4 with 35%+ inflation. The year before that he went for over $40+.

Looks more like risk and a lot less like reward. If he isn't stealing bases and hitting for a low average, he's not much good in fantasy leagues. He simply doesn't have enough power to make up for it. It essentially makes his ceiling a lot lower.

Didn't Carlos Beltran have the same knee surgery? He finally got back to some value, but clearly he is not a 30 SB guy he was in the past.

I assume next year he ends up being a guy who goes for $15ish and someone either does really well or you spent the same as you would on someone like Josh Willingham.

That's why last year I bought Beltran, and this year I bought Sizemore. I'm a genius.

Next year, someone will win Sizemore for $25 and the RJer in that league will be like "sucker....." Of course, since it's the rube who will finally land him, he's going to have that season reminiscent of 2007 and we'll all be suckers.....

Grady Sizemore said "there's a lot of concern" about the status of his right knee.
Sizemore missed two weeks after bruising the same knee back in May, but he thinks this injury is more significant. In fact, it reminds him of the injury to his left knee that required microfracture surgery last year. "It's similar," said Sizemore. "It's hard to say whether it's the same. It's definitely a concern. It's the same area. Similar symptoms. It does feel a lot like it ... but I can't say for sure." Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer Jul 18, 2:26 PM - Rotoworld.

He did play with a bullet stuck in his side. Cut him a little slack.

Grady Sizemore underwent abdominal surgery Thursday in Philadelphia to repair a sports hernia.
Well, that's a surprise. Sizemore is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks following the surgery. The Indians projected that he would likely have to miss four weeks with his knee injury anyway, so they felt it made sense to address the hernia issue at this particular time. He's far from a sure thing the rest of the way, so look for the Indians to step up their efforts to land an outfielder before the trade deadline.

lol you sound just like me. I always grab these types of players and they suck and then the next year when I'm determined to not get burned again and the player in question sells for a lot less at the auction, he goes nuts and becomes a great keeper.
