From Rotoworld--
"Yankees optioned RHP Ivan Nova to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Nova posted a 3.35 ERA since the beginning of June, but it wasn't enough to save his spot in the rotation. He'll serve as rotation insurance at Triple-A. Though the Yankees have not yet made the announcement, Nova's demotion virtually guarantees that Phil Hughes will come off the DL to start Wednesday against the Indians."
Wow. Talk about undeserving. Even if they were going to take him out of the rotation, why not make him the long man out of the bullpen?
(I have no personal stake in this demotion. The only Yankee SP I own is Garcia, in one league.)
