  • Pick one super crappy catcher

About to be on the clock in the battle of the backup catchers (penultimate round of a 50-rounder). If you HAD to take one, and you ALREADY lost Severino before the draft even ended, which one would you take?

Victor Caratini (def gained ABs at least short term with the move to MIL)
    Jose Trevino
    Curt Casali
    Austin Barnes
    Zack Collins
    Payton Henry
    Reese McGuire

Barnes--LA seems to make magic with these kinds of guys.

Caratini has a career .327 avg with 3 HR and 13 RBI in 19 games in Milwaukee. So stupid that this might decide it for me lol. Feel like I have to take someone with the severino loss.

        Ugh! Ugly list. Probably Caratini.

I'll go with Barnes. Will Smith may see some additional time at DH, a slap in the face to be sure but could help to save his legs.

Another vote for Barnes - he has been the most productive to date. :P

This was my first thought. Then I read yours. Then I read the rest. So I will stick with my first thought of Barnes.

That's the rub, isn't it? He has a lot of pull power but is known to be quite a wanker.

(My first thought was McGuire - Barnes is decent but won't get a lot of PT). Might as well roll the dice with someone with decent upside.
