Off season trade offer - Torkelson/Rutschman content

Just got an interesting trade offer in our 15-team mixed 5x5 league.

I would give up a $23 Bieber with 2 years left on his contract and a $10 Jordan Romano.

I would get Whit Merrifield at $11 for his final year, plus an R15 Torkelson and an R15 Rutschman, meaning I could carry them into the auction free as reserve players. I would also get an R2 Josh Lowe and an R9 Jackson Kowar to add to my reserve list.

I have other closers, and steals will be a premium. Not sure how to value a Torkelson and Rutschman that I can carry in free without taking up a roster space. Seem pretty valuable.

Thoughts?

Sorry, R15 denotes that they are a rookie player and I could carry them into the auction in 2022 at no salary and and as a reserve player, not taking up one of my active roster spots. The 15 means their salary once they lose rookie status would be would be $15.

Realistically, I would say I don't have a title shot in 2022 with my current keeper list.

If you felt you had a strong shot next year I would hold Bieber and Romano. Both are well priced and Bieber still has Cy Young potential.

Interesting that you have other closers besides Romano. The list of 2022 projected closers is pretty scary. There's not a whole lot of guys that look like locks.

Torkelson and Rutschman are exceptional of course, so ya have to get these guys as they'll never be available again. Whit is a solid pickup also obviously.

I can see why the other guy is willing tho.

Put another check in the drop everything and accept column. At $15, the rookies are better trade bait, but both should play this season so their 2022 contributions are essentially free and I much prefer Merrifield, even if for only one season, than Bieber at their respective prices.
