  • Conforto vs Kepler

I have guys coming off the IL in my 14 team points league and need to cut one of these OFers. I'm leaning Conforto, but I feel like he will have a hot streak at some point. Kepler doesn't seem to be playing every day anymore. But to this point, he has been the much better hitter.

Where are you in the standings? Conforto is higher risk/reward so I'd go with him if I was chasing, but Kepler if I'm protecting.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

I finished the regular season in first. Both players are depth--with Springer coming back, one of these guys will be my 6th OFer, in case one of my top 5 goes down. The scary thing is that all pick ups lock once our playoffs start, so whoever I go with, I am hoping is healthy for the rest of the year, as he is the guy I will need if any of my OFers or my util bat goes down.

I'd go with Kepler in that scenario.
I'm just here for the baseball.

I go with Conforto. Since Aug 1 he has hit .275 and Kepler has hit .182. Both have hit 2 HR this month.

I'm not sure those data points are useful. Since Aug 1st, Kepler has a .182 avg against a .204 BABIP and Conforto has a .275 avg against a .327 BABIP.

Basically, a few more balls fell in for Conforto, and we shouldn't expect that difference in BABIP to continue.

Fine with a short term comparison but in this case I don't think it leads to the conclusion you're seeing.

Agreed, as a backup I'd want the lower risk.

Okay. Just curious who would you pick?
