A's manager Bob Melvin said late Tuesday that Chris Bassitt received stitches for a cut below his right eye and is undergoing a scan for possible fractures.

The full statement from Melvin after Bassitt got hit in the face by a 100 mph comebacker in the second inning of his start Tuesday evening against the White Sox: "Bass is conscious. He was the entire time. We don’t think the eye is a problem at this point. It felt like it was below it. He’s got some cuts. They had to do some stitches. He’s in a scan and we'll know more about potential fractures tomorrow or later tonight."

Latest I heard was at least six weeks away. So sadly it’s probably a zero chance (and if he pitches at all, it’s probably a short outing to provide a boost to his confidence before the offseason).
